Jarrod's redemption

Did anyone else not buy his redemption at the end? It seemed tacked on and forced.

Re: Jarrod's redemption

It was wierd how it was never clear how much Jarrod went a long with Dai Shi willingly. Sometimes they acted like he was the real Dai Shi and other times a human acolyte.

Re: Jarrod's redemption

Yeah it did bug me that they weren't consistent on how much Dai Shi was in control.

I would have liked it if it was just Jarrod working for Dai Shi of his own accord, and Dai Shi was some kind of ghost dragon like a cross between Shen Mu from Jackie Chan Adventures, and an evil version of Zordon.

Re: Jarrod's redemption

That would have been better. And if he was redeemed it would have meant more.

Re: Jarrod's redemption

It was always weird how the Skylords treated Dai Shi like a student that had to learn. Also why did the Phantom Beats want him to be their king if they fought him in a war in ancient times?

Re: Jarrod's redemption

It made me want to see Jungle Fury go longer, just to see Jarrod become the Sixth Ranger. Since he kind of was in the end.

Re: Jarrod's redemption

They never made it clear how Dai Shi got that armored form. It almost seemed like morph but he had no morpher. Was he connected to the Morphing Grid somehow? Also how could Jarrod use it again on his own?

Re: Jarrod's redemption

I recon Dai Shi channeled Jarrod's animal spirit and the morphing grid to create that armored form. Jarrod was still able to do this when he was from from Dai Shi's control.

Re: Jarrod's redemption

It was pretty odd how they acted like Jarrod was Dai Shi when we knew he was possessed. But even then, his soldiers acted like he was Jarrod with Dai Shi's powers. At the end they did make it more obvious Dai Shi took Jarrod over. It probably wouldn't have been so possible if Jarrod didn't have so much anger in him. So perhaps thats why he was so guilty. Also I think the SkyLords viewed his humanity as a weakness. So thats why they didn't treat him like the real Dai Shi. The Dark Sky Lord took this to an extreme as he hated humans.

Re: Jarrod's redemption

It seems clear his love for Camille helped weaken Dai Shi's hold over the would be Lion Ranger.

Re: Jarrod's redemption

I would have liked it better if Dai Shi had the real Dai Shi's powers. It would have made more sense. Then you could have the real Dai Shi show up when Jarrod starts to turn.

Re: Jarrod's redemption

Not really since it was casually referenced every now and then. Look at the episode where Carnisoar sends him back in time? We clearly see that Jarrod is having doubts about what Dai Shi is planning. The Skylords didn't trust Dai Shi in his human host. They didn't care if he was the real thing.

I would have liked it better if he had Dai Shi's Power. Much like Adler did until he died and Master Org took over his body.

Re: Jarrod's redemption

It would have made more sense if Jarrod himself turned bad and was redeemed by his love of Camille.

Re: Jarrod's redemption

I never bought the whole Jarrod/Camille love angle. He treated her pretty shitty and all of the sudden Jarrod's goodness came out because he loved her?

Re: Jarrod's redemption

Mystic Force could be wierd. But I liked Jarrod's story overall. It was cool how he basically became the Sixth Ranger in the end. I wonder if Dai Shi tapped into the Morphing Grid to produce his Black Lion Armor?

Re: Jarrod's redemption

I wish they would have went all the way and made Jarrod a villain. It would have made more sense and would have avoided the easy out his redemption gave. Just have Camille become good.

I wish Jarrod turned good in the middle of the season and became the Sixth Ranger. It would have been cool. Dom just wan't interesting enough to be the Sixth Ranger.

Re: Jarrod's redemption

They could have shot a lot of new footage and it would have made the season better. Jarrod as the Black Lion Ranger, would have been cool. Too bad he wouldn't have had a zord. Unless they could have used one of the Auxiliary Zords? Just like Lightspeed did with Ryan.

I would have liked that storyline too.

Jungle Fury was too all over the place. Jarrod wasn't very likeable.

He wasn't supposed to be likeable in the beginning.

Re: Jarrod's redemption

It was pretty lame when Carnisoar went back in time and cheating on tests made him more evil.

Re: Jarrod's redemption

In my head canon Jungle Fury Season 2, Jarrod does become the Black Lion Ranger.
